Dry needling may form part of a treatment and rehabilitation plan for some sports-related muscle problems.
Athletes often develop areas of muscle tension or overload because of repetitive training, changes in training volume or the demands of their particular sport.
Where appropriate, I may use dry needling alongside joint mobilisation, chiropractic care, soft tissue techniques and rehabilitation exercises.
The goal isn’t simply to needle the painful muscle. It’s to understand why the area became irritated and help you return to activity safely.
