A good pillow should support the natural curve of your neck while keeping your head in a comfortable, neutral position. If it’s too high, too low or no longer providing adequate support, your neck muscles may have to work harder throughout the night.
Your sleeping position also plays an important role. Side sleepers generally have different support needs to people who sleep on their backs, while sleeping on your stomach may place additional strain on the neck for some people.
