What Is Tech Neck?

“Tech Neck” is a term used to describe the strain placed on the neck and upper back when we spend long periods looking down at phones, tablets or laptops.

Although our heads don’t feel particularly heavy, they place increasing strain on the neck as they move forward. Over time, this can lead to muscle fatigue, joint stiffness, headaches and discomfort across the neck and shoulders.

The good news is that small changes often make a big difference. Raising your screen to eye level, taking regular breaks, improving your posture and incorporating simple stretching exercises throughout the day can all help reduce unnecessary strain.

If you’re experiencing ongoing discomfort despite making these changes, a chiropractic assessment may help identify movement restrictions or muscle imbalances that could be contributing to your symptoms.
