What Is Good Posture?

Good posture isn’t about standing perfectly straight or forcing your shoulders back all day.

In reality, good posture is the ability to move comfortably between different positions without placing unnecessary strain on your body. It’s about maintaining a balanced position that allows your muscles and joints to work efficiently while supporting everyday movement.

The healthiest posture is often your next posture. Changing positions regularly is far more beneficial than trying to maintain one “perfect” position for hours at a time.

Everyone’s body is different, so what feels comfortable for one person may not feel the same for someone else. Factors such as previous injuries, flexibility, muscle strength and daily activities all play a role.

During your assessment, I’ll look at how your body naturally moves and suggest simple adjustments that suit your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit a textbook definition of posture.
